27 Jun 2007 Population Growth

A Century of Megacities and Urban Slums

According to a report today from the UN Population Fund, precisely half of the world's 6.82 billion people will be living in cities by next year. That's unprecedented...and unsustainable.

In 1955, there were 2.6 billion people on this planet. By 2055, there will be over 9.4 billion.

Surely, there's too many people.
